IGF 1 / Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (somatomadin C)
Feb 21, 2009
Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 is an anabolic hormone produced in the liver when stimulated by the growth hormones produced in the pituitary gland. As such, IGF 1 is almost always used in conjunction with HGH. IGF 1 has many advantageous effects for athletes. It increases muscle cells, creates new muscle fibers and promotes cartilage growth. IGF 1 also protects neurotransmitters and is being studied as an Alzheimer’s medication.
