You can train her just like you train yourself. Our bodies have the same muscles.

The only difference my husband and I have in our training is that I don't do forearms and I go light for traps.
I would suggest at first that she train with weights before doing her cardio stuff. She can continue to do cardio as she likes if she's trying to burn extra cal's and keep her heart in good condition.
I think to start, 3 exercises per body part, 3 sets of 10-12 reps per exercise. Teaching her propper form is the most important at first. Then you have to get her to understand that in order to see results she will have to keep increasing the weight so that those last few reps are difficult to execute.
The worst thing I see in the gym is when women are training with feather weights doing a million reps. This will not build muscle and they will not see results.
