I'm just wondering if S4 will help?
My sister has Fibromyalgia and is in a great deal of pain all the time. S4, is this good for females? Bass seemed to have good results with his joints. i have hopes of helping her.
any advice would be great.

i think i'm just streaching for some thing to help her. she's on some stuff now that cost 4 grand a month. good thing for medical coverage. i have found this one call Lyrica. it helps block the pain receptors. i'll tell her about this one.
but if any one has any ideas great. i'll take all i can get here.

I know dalotta works for pain. She probably takes a pain-killer I would imagine, with fibromyalgia nothing really works though.

i'll look that one up. the one she injects now is Enbrel. this is a cut n paste of some of the info on that drug. sounds rather interesting.

Enbrel is prescribed for rheumotoid arthritis as well. It's very dangerous.

Hi Cyto,
i'm a Physical Therapist, from my experience in working with several clients with fibromyalgia, and Rhumatoid Arthritis, movement and exercise seems to play a key role in pain management and prevention.
What i have used in the past with great success, is an individualy designed 1hr workout routine with Pilates apparatus.
these machines help people with chronic pain and injury enjoy movement while eliminating most weight bearing.
i have a Certified pilates Instructor who works for me, these clients see her from 2-3 times a week, to once a month.

i suggest you search for a good Pilates studio or a Pilates instructor in a Rehab facility. avoid gym Pilates or group Pilates, this will not be suitable for your sister; she should be personaly evaluated.

thank you i will let her know about pilates. i have been trying to get her active slowly, this sounds like it may be the best way.

This is hard to answer because fibromyalgia sufferers are all so different. If it is a last resort try it. You have nothing to lose when you are in pain. Just dose it easy and watch for unwanted side effects.

However has she tried other things? Exercise? Diet? Massage? Rest? Softer type supplements?

So far most research has said that exercise although painful at first is the best thing in the long run.

she has been using the meds and tried the gym. i was not aware of any of this untill last week. and she has had it for a while. she stop the gym for a few reason one being pain the other not know howq to use the equipment.and being embarassed to ask for help. so i told her i will go with her if she wants to get back to it cause the pain is not as bad now. the diet she has going is weak but i can understand that one cause of the other drug shes on is supressing the appetite. i think it is symbalta. it's for arthritic pain. i'm going to help her in the gym and get her going and see if it helps her along. i'm also goingt o get her to read this thread and let her make her own mind up. thanks for the advice every thing helps.

I thought cymbalta was an anti-depressant. I didn't know it could be used for arthritic pain. Tell your girlfriend if she is serious about feeling better getting into the gym and eating a proper diet is the first and most important step.

Nowadays so many people think drugs are the answer for everything when diet and exercise can make a world of difference for different diseases, conditions, physical appearance, etc.

Oopsa Daisy!!! Thanks for the reminder!! And it's good to know you aren't dating your sister!

One good thing about a sibling relationship.....you can really cut to the grind and be brutally honest without hurting the relationship much! So be harsh with her and tell her to get her ass in gear if she needs to!
