Default anavar & t3 cycle

In contest prep right now... about 5-6 weeks away from my show and having trouble getting the sticky fat off... so I was thinking about cycling these.

I was originally going to just do t3 but I heard it was very catabolic, so I wanna stack the 'var with it... will this combat the catabolisis or should I go with something stronger? What should my first cycle be like in order to peak for my show? Or am I too close to the show to start thinking about it... especcially in terms or water retention, etc. ??

I am about 5'8" and right now 138 lbs. I started my contest prep 3 weeks ago at 143 lbs. I weight train for about 45 mins to an hour/ 5 times a week; cardio for 60-90 minutes / 7 days a week. My diet is squeaky clean...
meal one: 1/2 c oats & whey protein shake
meal two: whey protein shake & 1 tbsp flax oil
meal three: 6 oz tuna & 8-10 asparagus
meal four: whey protein shake
meal five: 4 oz lean turkey patty & 8-10 asparagus
meal six: 5 oz chicken breast & 8-10 asparagus
meal seven: whey protein shake
As far as supplements go... I have stopped most of them like the creatine & NO supps because of water retention. I still take my daily multivitamin & mineral... I take 5 grams of L-glutamine 2x per day and that's about it... I have been using the Venom Tri-Lean system as a fat burner but I really don't like it because I haven't noticed any kind of difference.

Let me know your opinions...

For a first cycle you don't want to use two different compounds. Never stack anything that you haven't used by itself.

I wouldn't suggest T3 for a first cycle. I actually wouldn't suggest it but that's a different story.

As for anavar.....you want to start at 5 mg or less per day and run for 6-10 weeks.

Problems though.....you've only been contest dieting for 9-10 weeks.....not alot. You should have left yourself more time. I also see alot of carbs and very little fats. You should try some sort of carb cycling or low carb to get rid of fat. I'm also curious what amount of cals you are intaking? I suspect your diet could be a problem at this point......

I also wouldn't recommend doing your first cycle so close to your contest.....you don't know how you will react. If you are going to anavar is the thing to do though.

Thanks for your response. I was getting worried...

At this point the breakdown is roughly 1200 cals.. 50 grams of carbs and 200 grams of protein.. about 10-15 grams of fat.

The only real carb food I'm taking in is my morning cup of oatmeal... and the only real fat is my tbsp of flax seed oil. The rest is just fat from the protein. Anything I should add in or take out at this point? Too much veggies?

I've heard of carb cycling but I haven't really had the chutzpah to try it... the way I've heard of it is doing no carbs except on M,W,F having a carb meal right before bed that consists of a banana, 1/2 cup oats, and a sweet potato. Is this something you would suggest?

First question....do you have a coach or are you doing this yourself?

Your macro breakdown is very oldschool......it works but I assume you are suffering? I would definately do some carb cycling. The plan you suggested would work. I might also suggest intaking 50 grams of carbs from fibrous vegetables instead of starchy ones and cycle it.

1200 cals seems to low even for contest dieting....I never went below 1400 and I weighed less than you. But at this point I wouldn't change it.

A nutritionist is your best bet.....but I would give the carb cycling a go.

I'm on my own with this one... I've learned from another girl who competes in figure that trains in my gym and I'm following a plan that she did for her contest prep. She was on this diet and also on Win & ECA stack at the time... so I'm sure that didn't hurt her at all. :P

So instead of doing the oatmeal, etc. just add in more carbs from veggies like broccoli? Would I still eat them right before bed?

That winny/ECA stack would have made a difference for sure. Take into account you aren't doing this and will have to burn fat a different way......diet and cardio.

You can eat them before bed....yes. Old school says eat carbs during day......todays methods say eat when you want. During my contest prep I would eat my carbs before bed.

I highly suggest carb cycling though.

Hey Scotland..

First of all.. I am sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner.. As soon as I think i will have time, bam I'm living in hectic hell and haven't logged on in weeks
So I know you are well into your pre-contest, but I figured I would answer some of your questions anyway.. and if you need help at this stage, give us a shout..

anywho.. I do agree with miss muscle about the carb cycling. It works.. simple as that.. I personally like 2 days down, 1 up, however some people like to get into keto.. I find keto really really really hard and I'm happy with the results I get from a shorter cycle.

Also, MM made a very valid point in the fact that your body will react very differently than your friend who used winny/eca. You will NOT be able to consume the same amount of calories nor carbs as she was able to.. so keep that in mind!

***TOO MANY WHEY SHAKES*** Not the best thing for pre-contest.. most women I know, their bodies respond better to real food proteins then stricly whey protein shakes.. IMO, I get a little bloat actually.. maybe that is in my head, maybe not But if I were you, I would cut back on the shakes and bring in some good quality protein.. Or at equal them out..

Good luck and keep us posted

Glad to hear your response, my contest is over... I placed but not as highly as I had hoped! Next time I wanna come in leaner.

I'm actually looking at keto diets, cuz I find I'm pretty sensitive to carbs. Any reason why it was harder? Are you more hungry on the keto or crave more? I was looking at the Dave Palumbo style, 2 days protein/fats and 1 day protein/veg. If you have any insight on it, definitely let me know.

keto is hard because in order to absolutely know you are in keto, you have to use strips to test & you can't have any carbs and I LOVE carbs lol..
Plus while getting down into keto, alot of people are tired and sluggish from the lack of carbs, but then when you hit keto, your body produces ketones which is supposed to replace energy.. It's not an easy thing & it takes a shitload of discipline!
Most people who do keto diets also use some sort of energy supplement, ie: caffeine, fatburner etc..

Do some research on Lyle McDonald.. He basically revolutionized the whole keto & carb cycling diets..
