i hate to be the one who plays devil's advocate here, but var is a pretty solid choice for a cutting cycle IMO. there are tons of women and competitors that i know who have had spectacular cutting cycles while adding var.
i remember for a fact that Supergirl came down from the mid 150's to 120lbs for a photo shoot using nothing but a very strict diet and a good dose of anavar, and she came in absolutely shredded, with no water. in her case, she didn't even do any cardio, but then again every woman is different, and supes has a lot of diet dedication (much more so than me

)
some women love var, some hate it. that's why you post on a board, right? to get opinions and experiences.
my only advice would be to examine some variables. start by playing with your diet. get with a competition coach and see how your body reacts to diet
alone. then see what adding in some cardio will do. don't try to change everything at once, else how will you know what works? gear should be the last addition after you reach a plateau. if you are "gifted" as you say, then you may not need aas to preserve muscle while dieting.
i would encourage you to keep a journal on here, and chart your progress based on diet alone, cardio alone, etc. see how far you can get without aas, and surround yourself with knowledgeable people who can help you get dialed in.
please, please keep posting, and let others learn from your experience!
