IMO side bends r pointless. Just keep ur diet good and remember u cannot spot reduce. Keep ur cardio up and bring ur overall bf down.

side bends won't reduce love handles just like crunched won't give you a six pack. diet and cardio. i do like side bends though for strength in the obliques.

Not sure if you're a bodybuilder or not, but side bends increase oblique mass, reducing the v taper we strive for. A few won't make a big difference, but it can add up if you leave it in your routine for a length of time or during a cycle. But if you're training for a sport or something, go for it

as mentioned above, Diet is key here i tend to have my clients steer away from side bends (heavy ones anyway) , U must remember the abdominals and the obliques are also a muscle thier for they also have the potential to go through hyperthrophy just like any other muscle. Thier for i would recommend as far as shapeing ur mid section stick to the bread and butter , bodyweight exercises eg crunches, knee raises, twists ect ect . Hope i helped !

Ahhh side bends. Most people don't do side bends correctly to target the obliques, that said.. Side bends are pointless, you will end up hitting your quadratus lumborum and wonder why your lower back and hips feel tight. Get it right and get it tight with your nutrition, and if you're looking to target your obliques correctly, try swinging a sledge hammer or doing some wood chops. Hope that helps.
