    What happens when I get bored on a leg day...
    So I was bored on a Leg day last week.

    After almost 27 years of squatting, it happens from time to time.

    Now, at almost 42 years old there is absolutely no reason to for me to try to set "personal lift records" with how much weight I can do for 1 rep.

    That is just asking for an injury and does nothing toward furthering my progress toward my goals.

    So I got the brilliant idea (Thanks MrP!) to go off and do a single set of 100 reps with 225 pounds on squat.

    Yup. You read that correctly - I did one set of full squats for 100 reps with 225 pounds.

    That was quite a shock to the central nervous system.

    The weight felt okay.

    The pump was absolutely otherworldly.

    I hadn't experienced a pump like that in years even though I tend to do a lot of higher rep and superset quad work.

    Doing the set was not too bad. It was 15 minutes after the set was over that things got bad. I actually got cold feeling even though I keep the temp in my gym at 77-78 degrees. I spent the next 45 minutes lying on the floor in my steam shower with it running wide open out of all 6 spray heads.

    For forty five minutes after that, I was on the bed for the bed part of an hour.

    Then, I felt fine except the pump stayed with me all day long.

    Sometimes, it is fun to be bored as it lends to creativity.

    Damn my man, death by squats. One hell of a eulogy, and that chill fealling I get it when I pushed my self to overdrive. Maybe some sort of adrenaline dump thing? Would love to know what it is

    Hey big guy, told u I would try that today..Damn Bro, such a pump & burning at around 60 reps, I couldn't finish the 100, stopped at around 80.. but, yes the pump was insane in my quads, I have a feeling this will stay for a while.

    but it's true what u have said to me, I'm not ,looking to set a personal lift record either, I'm 40 & I have to be careful not be injured.. gotta love changing things up, keeps it interesting.

    All I can say, is that even though your 42, I would never want to piss you off. Thats some crazy **** there.
