Who Has Made Gains From DC Training?
I'm at week 6 of my Test and deca cycle and I need a change in my workout. My strength is slightly increasing, but I'm at a sticking point as far as gaining in size.
I've been training for 15 years and have always use a similar workout routine only with few changes here and there. I now feel that I need to take my training to the next level and I would like to change to DC training.
How many of you Bros have used DC training?
I do have a few questions:
1. How long did it take for you to notice results in both size and strength?
2. Should I expect a decrease in strength before I see an increase? The reason I ask this is because I have never worked a muscle group more than once per week.
3. In the past I have used a slightly higher volume in my sets. This has actually given me a more defined look. I have very good definition in my back, traps, delts, and tri. By changing to DC Training am I going to loose this definition?

The thing about DC training I find unimpressive is the gurus in the training vids who started it look like shit.

Are you retarded?
Do you have any idea what DC training is? Who designed it? What he looks like?
I do, I have seen pics of him, he's a monster!
It is a very effective program. The problem is that DC Training is more than a workout routine. There is a pretty laid out diet plan and supplement plan. The problem is the supplement and diet stuff is pretty hush hush.
You can get the gist of the weight training portion from some different boards.
The rest you get through personal training with a DC trainer.
I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the last couple years Dave Henry has made some sick gains. He is trained by DC himself.

Sounds a lil like Chad Waterbury's Get Huge routines, I have been using Chad's ideas and basing my workouts on compund excersises and heavy explosive low-mid rep weights.
Im stronger than I ever been...but that could be the gear?

Most people simply respond better to low volume/more frequent training. Those high volume routines are for the .01% of genetically gifted who are on 2+ grams a week of gear. If you do it right then you should see gains right away. And the definition you have is a product of lower bodyfat, not doing a bunch of high volume isolation exercises.
DC is an excellent program. Ive personally made my best gains in 4 years on it. But you have to folllow the program like it was designed. Lots of people like to tweak it cause they dont like this exercise or that and that just fucks it up and makes it something other than DC. Gotta do the stretching religiously too.

I have made consistent strength gains on DC over the last 4 months but I'm having a hell of a time eating enough to put on weight. Must eat more!

Were all different and this program is not for me. Traditional mod volume training in the old days got me to 305lbs off season and 248 contest weight. With my injuries thjis would kill me.

What about it would kill you, the low volume, the high rep/low weight rest pause stuff, the 3 day workout weeks? That doesnt make any sense. Seems like it would heaven for someone with old injuries.

No reason to be a dick. FYI im injured and nowhere near where I was however there are a few on this board who know who I am and remember me from when I was almost an IFBB Pro. Procard or not you dont get close looking like a schmuck. However as a FYI I will be giving it another shot and plan on doing the proqualifiers 2011. Wanna see if you can do the same?
Your right about the Dante thing and that was a mistake.
The rest pause and the heavy poundages would send me to the ER.

Im not trying to be a dick, i just have watched alot of people knock DC over the years that have never even tried it.
Also, i have no aspriations of being a competitive bodybuilder. I dont care for the muscle jock look. Im happy being a lean 210lbs and stronger than 99% of the people in my gym, even those that have 50lbs on me. And DC put me to that point very quickly, even at my old age of 39 with my creaky joints and bad shoulders.

Not impressed by both those guys on that vid?
Why because they are offseason?
Lets see...one is Jason Wojo former JR USA lightheavyweight Champion! and the other is Franco Dattillo who I believe has won the Mr Indiana
Me? I am not impressed very much with "Well I used to be somebody special...." guys who claim they used to be almost IFBB pro's.....but hey thats me
Oh yea if you want to see Jason Wojo he has like a 20 page spread in this month in Musclemag Intl.

I do realize the diff in the offseason and contest time and how one looks. Im going however by what I saw in the video and would think for a training vid they would have come in shape. However as I have stated my oppion is based on waht i saw in the video. The pics you posted look good no doubt. However im not one to claim anything I was what I was. However im going to try to see if I can make this beat up body make a comeback and see how I do at the 40year old masters on the National level as a Super Heavy if I can possibly a heavy. I put on 40lbs in the past 20 weeks and need alot more before I can even think of dieting and will admit im pale and look like major shit right now. However as bodybuilding is all about the eye and everyones is different how somone looks is oppinion and mine is the guys looked like shit in the vid and as i said before what I said was based on that vid.
