I don't have experience personally but another board I was on had someone document their results using a dermal roller. He was very happy with the results he got and picked up the roller on ebay for $20.

I'm gonna give this a shot. I have acne scars from when I was younger (middle to high school years ).

Are your acne scars lighter then the base color of your skin or darker. People have different types so if your scars are darker you may, in addition to the well suggested tretinoin, ask your dermatologist about a skin lightener like hydroquinone. Also if you spend a lot of time outside/in the sun you may want to check out maderma instead as Retin-A does highten skin sensitivity to the sun.
If you have light scarring and dont wish to deal with either a dermatologist or some (rather slim) side effects then silicone gel might be more affordable. Just a suggestion.

Forget about creams and potions and lotions. Those things do not work if the acne left deep pitted scars. Laser resurfacing works ok for smoothing out fine wrinkles and reducing the visibility of superficial scars but they don't really work for deep pitted scars either. Best treatment is to visit a plastic surgeon who will burn those bitches away with a series of strong chemical peels. They sting and burn like the devil but a good plastic surgeon will desensitize the area with a mild anesthetic so it won't be too bad. The bad part of it is the recovery process. your skin will look awful at first, so bad that you may not want to go back for the next treatment. But you have to stay with it. After the burning and peeling, you will have smooth and even-toned skin.
If the acne is active and severe and you have really greasy skin, wait until you've been off cycle for a while and your liver has had time to rest then go on Accutane.
I've seen people get dramatic results from these.

Acne scars are the marks on the skin even if the acne is removed. You can treat your acne at home by rubbing ice cubes on the face for 10-15 minutes. It will help you tighten the pores.Other way is to apply the juice of cucumber.

I'd go for invicible scars. It's an absolute product i would say because my incision scars were terrible and it faded them in weeks. Vitamin C , hydroquinone and silicon sheets are the most important ingredients to look for while searching a product. Invicible contains all of them

would polysporin or a healing cream work.
silicone sheets work for my scars, they would work id imagine.
tanning could help. as well as time heals too.
good luck

I have a lot of acne scars on my back, none on my face...I had used accutane two seperate times...once in high school and once in my twenties. I wish there were a way to smooth these out..they're pretty deep and very noticable.

heard good things about dermal rollers. I would go seek advise from a dermo... they can asses your personal issues and give advise. ask your doc for a referral.

I've got tons of acne scars on my back and shoulders from 5-6 years ago still. I was even asked if I was juicin it by some people, but I still haven't. I've heard good things about chemical peels though, I think I will be trying it out in the coming weeks.

I had a noticeable scar on the side of my face from an accident a while back. I used an otc scar cream for about 3 months and it worked pretty well. My scar is only 1/2 the size now. I think I still have some left lying around, I'll post the name if I find it.

super old thread but don't overlook injectable fillers...its temporary but I had it done to some scars I had and they're not all totally gone but they're easily 75% better.
A plastic surgeon did it. Upside it was only 750 bucks all together , downside I have to go back 10-12 months to have them touched up BUT they get to be less and less each time I have it done because it attracts collagen in the space so it gets some repairing done
