I gave her a kiss and said " I love you" she said it back...that was the last time I heard her speak.
We got to the big city and went to icu to visit her..and she had breathing tubes in and what not..big machines pumping her lungs.
I was fkn scared...was a shock. A few weeks earlier we thought it was a minor blood pressure issue. Then BAM.
So we had a visit for a few days..alll she could do was muster enough strength to scribble a few words down here and there.
I was scared..
We left for home because I had school and we planned to come back in a few days.
Well a few days later we got the call, they said she's not doing well and we needed to come asap.
We got all packed and had were braced for a 400 km plus drive...in a blizzard, almost a complete whiteout.
Just minutes from a leaving.. BANG
Our car felt like we nailed something huge. got out and everything looked fine.
Couple hours down the road, one of our rear tires goes flat..so i put the donut tire on. When we got to the next town we called an emergency tire guy..he changed our tire. My big sis called the hospital..
Bad news...we lost her. I will never forget the feeling...we couldn't be there. We turned around and had the worst drive home ever.
Anyways...Bullseye my prayer go out to you and your family! stay strong! Eventually he will pass the torch to you my friend and you have to be a rock for your family. Your strong, you have us, and our prayers.
That's a really sad story Jimbo, must have been super hard to go trough it at that age,
All these stories really puts things in perspective, I also lost my dad unexpectedly & I couldn't say good bye..
All I can say is, we sometimes hold grudges & fight over silly things with our loved ones, & we loose valuable time, life is too short & everyday is a gift, let your loved ones know you love them & make each moment count.

oh man Jimbo. That made me sad let alone you. Bein very young and going through such horrible things is tough. I lost my best friend since I was about 3 when we were 16. He got hit by a car while on his bike on the way home from work. I was fucked up for a while. 2 months earlier we were at our high school basketball game and two buddies on our team were missing. Later through the game a couple cops came in and grabbed there parents. They got in a car wreck on the way to the game and both passed. It was really tough to go through.
Bullseye I know its hard bro. There's nothing easy about it. Stay strong bud.

like jimbo & DAWG said be strong Bullseye your family needs you, specially your dad, I know this is really hard to accept, if I were in your shoes I think my dad would want me to be strong, comfort him and reassure him with positive thoughts, we pray for him everyday god bless your Father & Family.
jimbo I'm trully sorry to read your post same as Bullseye, I too have lost a close family member, someone special to me, my grandmother, her last words were, "my poor children" to hear her say those words was really hard to accept, at the end she was not thinking of her self, she was worried about her family, she is a saint, I wish I could be that brave, hmm
