Taking care of my body makes me feel good about myself, (especially when I run into some of my "not so good friends" from high school) 16 years later & seeing how they do a double look..lol This is a lifestyle I would never leave...
Hahahahaha.....hell yeah! I showed up to my 10 yr reunion a few years ago looking ripped and all the preppy rich assholes and jocks were all fat, overweight, and balding......and all the preppy girls who would never give me the time of day in highschool were all overweight as well. felt great!

I totally understand... I feel the same, and for me it feels good to be doing the things I love to do again. Sometimes our choices in life lead us down a different path but it doesn't mean we can never choose another path.

Yes, I agree with this. I have seen the same thing and I am amazed to see how much they have changed and not in a good way.

I put on some unwanted weight one summer and I just was not happy with the way i looked, so I decided to do something about it...now my entire life revolves around it.
When I first started i loved the attention that came with it but the more I got into the less I cared about the attention. I dont do it for anyone else but myself and that's what keeps me going.

When me and the girl I loved broke up, I needed to channel my depression/anger before I killed myself/someone else. She ended up marrying another guy at my church soon after and I took to the weight room, running 4 miles a day and lifting weights daily. I dropped from 165lbs down to 135lbs of solid shredded muscle, then began to climb into the 140's and then 150's.
I fell in love with the power, the presence it gives you, the endurance, health, energy, the physical attraction it has on girls, and the confidence.
Short of being knocked out of the game by twisting up my spine, nothing was stopping me. But I am on my way back to the top again
I will lift till the day I die.
Essentially it also helps that my ex's husband is a dorky guy who looks like a tall gopher, and now I rock a look she cant have

I think for me it started when i was maybe 15, watching arnie movies like conan and predator, i decided shit i want biceps like that so i got 4 bricks and jammed them on a cut down broomstick handle lol
i used to bicep curl that shit every day for years, i was clueless haha but i gained some size on my arms and would show off to the girlies any chance i had lol
actually come to think of it mum has a photo of me when i was 8 or 9 im my undies pulling a front double bicep, i wanted to be a bodybuilder before i knew their was such a thing lol

We made it clear from the beginning of our training that we will not Cross those invisible lines.
You're totally going to hit that. Atta girl.

I remember the Charles Atlas ads in the back of the comics when I was around 10.
Then, noticing in High School that the jocks got the hot chicks, whether they had any money or not.
When I was in the Navy after High School, weights were free and I was away from home and broke. I enjoyed the competition and the camaraderie.
After the service, The classic break ups with GF's would always drive me back into the gym with a vengeance. Then when the new unit moved in, the weights moved back out.
When I hit 40, I finally got serious. Anti-aging, Overall fitness, stress killer, and needing something constant in my life that didn't change with jobs or women.
At 48 now, it's just what I do. More of a zen thing, Even I can't explain it. But I couldn't live without it.
It defines me even as it refines me. Anything that comes between me and my time in the Gym must be ruthlessly eliminated. Barring severe injury or illness, I’ll never stop.

I Didnt See Your post until Now. I am seriously trying my best to behave, it's one of the hardest things to do though.
I have feelings for another person so it keeps me from going further with my training partner. There is something about this particular guy that draws me to him. I want to be so naughty with him but also want more than a friendship, I want to date him. I just don't know how he really feels about me.
I am remaining neutral and behaving myself and waiting for "My Mr. Right" (there is only one)
