My take... they missed their chance.

Toronto has loads and loads of cash that they could have used back in the day to load up on star players. Now there is a salary cap and you can't buy a championship team. The rebuilding process now is going to take them years where as before the new CBA you could build a championship team in 2-3 years.

IT worked well For Washington. It sucked for a year or 2. But now Washington is one of the youngest, hardest, fastest not to mention one of the highest scoring team in the league. It's nice When you can come back from 4-1 to win.

He was a cheap bastard and would spend the money back in the day to make a good team. Now lots of money doesn't do jack shit for you because they have a salary cap.

The Leafs NEED to suck the next two seasons. They need a top 2 draft pick this year and a top 5 the following year. Then they can build around 2 franchise type of players.

Tell me about it... Why is it that Leafs always have close to a sell out(or a sell out crowd) Yet we have these half assed players year in and out. Makes no fkn sense.
