i eat the fat free greek yogurt. It does has quite a bit of sugar in it. Most all of my carb consumption is on training days within 8 hours of a session, so I'm not terribly concerned if a small portion of my carb intake is in the form of sugar and I don't each much of the stuff a week anyway.
I think it's just another decent food source for complete proteins. It shouldn't be a staple of your overall protein consumption, but can fill in the gaps to provide variety.

get the plain stuff, whether you're using greek or regular. it might not taste as good, but the sugar content can be much reduced. for one brand, their flavored yogurt was about 40g of sugar per serving, while their plain was about 10g per serving (yes same serving size)

When I eat yogurt, it's the Chobani Greek flavored versions. They're all about 14 g of protein with 20 g carbs and taste way better than plain yogurt.

yogurt in my opinion is a must. especially if you dont take any probiotics or digestive enzymes. they help break down food easier therefore absorb more nutrients. plus it has protein and helps those who are lactose intolerant get some dairy in. i culture my own @ home. healthy yogurt @ the store is too expensive to buy enough to eat everyday. the flavored kind is complete crap so dont even bother with it. try to get the unpaturized, non homogenized kind

Unflavored Greek is the best way to go. Add your own fruit and flavors while controlling carbs or substitute it as sour cream.

I feel like yogurt is one of those things hypedbby the media. Its hard to find a brand that isnt full of sugar and other junk. If you have dairy issues i wouldnt bother with it, if not id stick to greek yogurt. Id probably eat more greek yogurt if the stuff wasnt so damn expensive.

yeah, expensive and the unflavored stuff is fucking disgusting to top it off. flavoring with fruit is out for me as I'm not a big fruit lover. goes in my shakes.

Never heard of Fage, but I avoid dairy and have a probiotic and use digestive enzymes. Are they entirely necessary? Probably not, but I believe they help.

on the contrary. if u have dairy issues, then thats the source of dairy you should be eating. the healthy bacteria helps with the digestion. i cant stomach milk at all. but i have never had a problem with yogurt. yes the greek yogurt is super expensive@ the stores

Non Fat Greek yogurt (plain with lower sugar content) has become my new go to for the first meal. Its just too easy early in the morning and with some fruit and a little honey, tastes quite good!
Zephyr I think it depends on the specific allergy you have to the different parts of milk (guessing you already know this though). Some people (my son for example) can't handle the milk protein caesin... a little blood work with an alergist goes a long way... We actually found out little dude can't handle Egg Yolks, Milk, Coconuts and a whole list of shit that were considered minor sensitivities. Amazing what you learn as a parent LOL
