Default Lightweight question?

I've got a couple of questions you guys can help me with. I have one contest under my belt and placed third. I weighed in at around 132lbs. I'm 5'7'' and have a small structure but a decent amount of mass to build from. What is an ideal weight for a 5'7'' athlete to have the best appearance on stage? Thus far I have decided not to compete again until I get a little more beef on my frame. I'm taking in about 3500 calories a day. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Oh yeah, one more question. As far as training goes I've heard alot of theories on how many days per week to train and workouts. Will it be a good idea to stick to the basic movements with moderate weight for 3 or 4 days? Thanks again.

What do you weigh in at now? Give us an idea of how you are eating now and we'lll make some changes where need be.
In terms of weight training. I myself only train a bodypart once a week and just really hit it hard on the day that I train it. I believe in lifting as heavy as I can without jeopardizing form of course. It really depends on your goals though.

Right now I'm weighing about 146 and would like to be in the 160's.I work 3rd shift and have a break every 2 hrs. I get 3 breaks in a 10 hr.shift. Heres my diet: Usually before work I eat a meal with at least 30g of protein and high carbs. First break I have a shake with 52g protein and 86g carbs and 1 cup of mixed nuts with 10 g protein and 16 g carbs. For lunch it is a chicken breast with another shake and a granola bar. Last break it's another shake then on my way to the gym I have another shake. Before bed I eat 3 pancakes and a bowl of oatmeal with yet another shake. I usually get 7 hours sleep a day. My job is fast paced on an automobile assembly line. I hope this is enough info. I'm sort of new to the diet stratagies so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. One more thing, I also take creatine and drink about a gallon of water a day. I'm not taking anything else at the moment.

For someone who's 5'7", in order to be a national calibre competitor you would have to be able to compete as a middleweight (bottom half of the old LHW, 176-187) or lightheavyweight (187-198). Preferably LHW. That means you would have to be walking around in the offseaon b/w 195-215........but still have abs.
...........Start eating.......and, ahhh, etc.!!
