Yes - sadly, it is true. Its a serious injury, and I think he also suffered some brain damage from a stroke and had a serious seizure. I doubt that he will never compete again.

Would talk to him everytime I went to the Arnold,great guy and think he just came back & won after majoy surgery
Shit that sucks,hope he recovers and get back to normal.

One of the dumbest assumptions people and especially DOCTORS make. They see someone who's young and look like they're in shape, and the conclusion is that they're HEALTHY. I always think of that Russian World champ pairs figure skater,not that I follow it but here is a world champ that drops dead!!
Top in his sport in the world,drug free and ..BOOM..heart explodes...that's a suprise!

That's typical media looking for somthing easy to write about,same as the 86 World Series on Bill Bucker.The 8th..8th guy in the inning hits a ball between your legs and you still have 1 game to play but it's his fault??
