scar tissue?

Sometimes when I shot in the glutes I feel a short of ripping pain and other times nothing(even though it is in the same spot). Is it scar tissue or maybe hitting a nerve? anyone else get this?

If you were hitting a nerve you would be flying across the room and screaming in pain so I doubt it is that. It is likely scar tissue. When poking through it there is usually a "crunching" sound. Not a big deal but it can be a bit disconcerting.
